A Summary of my Goals

Ever since the rise of American political activism in the sixties and seventies, there has been a consistent effort by the American power elite (consisting of government, financial industry, and big business) to control the media in a way that consolidates its power (through neoliberal goals of deregulation, privatization, tax breaks, and elimination of community welfare) and to prevent the 'crisis of democracy,' which according to many elites meant the crisis (to them only) of oppressed American people rising up and demanding their rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, which threatens the power of these elites. As a reaction to political mobilization of the masses, this power elite united in many ways and has not just succeeded in redistributing wealth to the upper strata of society, therefore controlling scarce resources, but they have also succeeded in shaping general public policy (foreign and domestic) in America ever since. Of course there are many exceptions. There are many honest and good-intentioned organizations and citizenry that work hard to give a voice to all those who lack it. But the general point is that the power of our elites is more consolidated and protected than ever.

Although their agendas are not always unified, when it comes to their general interests they work together to protect themselves. This started with the powerful rise of the Chamber of Commerce and corporate political activism, which pervaded and infiltrated our political system. Then came the election of President Ronald Reagan, who championed Neoliberalism and took away Keynesian programs that many Americans relied upon. Moreover, the percentage of media ownership by corporate and business interests has increased rapidly over the past few decades. Also, the media industry is now made up of an oligopoly. In the early 1990's there were about forty to fifty influential news media outlets. Now, due to the stronger media outlets eating the weaker ones, there are just about twenty megasized global media conglomerates. Thus, what is now portrayed in the media almost never goes against the agendas of those who own them. If you do not think this is true then explain to me why NONE of Rupert Murdocks 274 reporters voiced any opinions against the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The sad truth about our media is clear. However, I do not want to take away from all those people who are honestly portraying the truth. I thank all of those that put themselves on the line just to give a voice to those that really need it. With that being said, the sad reality is that the media is generally controlled by a few people at the top.

Therefore, with the increasing centralization of the media and economic resources, the elite has successfully blinded the American public from reality and has generally made the masses inert and subservient to the agendas of the government. In my blog, I hope to bring a more "realistic" awareness of the world to anyone willing to listen by portraying the world from as-objective a point of view as I can. In the coming future, I hope to go into detail about the roots and rise of Neoliberalism. Also, I hope to expose the sad truth about the divergent interests of the business class and those of the American citizenry. Moreover, I will attempt to shed light about the true intentions about our nation's foreign policies and the so-called "War on Terror."

I welcome any advice, comments, differing opinions, and dialogue. I have made a promise to myself that objectivity, humility, open-mindedness, and a respect for the other side's views will be championed as I continue my blog. I thank everyone for listening and welcome any comments on my work. The Big Lie

Haven't we seen this before? A group of bearded men are chained and masked while they are escorted by high-security personnel to their respective fates. The endless stream of cameras eagerly snap away at the frightening image. The headlines on the biggest news broadcasters flash about an uncovered terrorist plot somewhere in America. High profile politicians and federal agents give their press conferences and releases, celebrating the uncovering of the plot and remind everyone, once again, that Americans are in imminent danger of a large and looming threat from Islamist militants. How many times have we seen this happen in the U.S., U.K., and other Western nations?

Since the 'suspected' plots seem like significant information at the time then one would reasonably guess that these so-called plots would be covered by the mainstream media. However, when all the suspected terrorists are released and not charged, or when the suspected plot is exposed to be nothing but a sham, not one large media outlet even peeps about it. This is what recently happened to the exposed NY terrorist plot where four bearded men were arrested and supposedly linked to Al-Qaeda. It turns out that this entire case would have been non-existent if it wasn't for an infiltrated FBI informant. This informant provided the money, ideas, resources, and even the weapons (bombs and a stinger missile) to entrap and incriminate his targets. Federal agents set up the entire thing in order to have a liable propogandist case to present to the American public. Didn't these federal agents put their country and its citizens at risk by making it possible for these people to carry out an attack?? I mean, all the resources and ideas provided by the undercover agent and his superiors were necessary conditions for the terrorist plot to occur. Suppose the plan was carried out and many people died. Shouldn't a large part of the blame belong to the people who made this attack possible by providing the weapons, money, and ideas in the first place hoping to make a case out of the targets?! One of the blogs that reported on this issue can be reached through the following link: www.alternet.org/world/140209/fbi_blows_it%3A_supposed_terror_plot_against_ny_synagogues_is_bogus/

The same sham terrorist plot happened many times before in the UK and here. In 2002, a supposed Los Angelas terrorist plot was uncovered that was later also exposed as a sham. The media and even the President told the American people that there was a definite plan to fly a plane into the Los Angelas Library Tower. According to no fewer than twenty-three intelligence experts (YES! twenty three credible people testified to this) said the following:

"After the mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa, immediately went public with comments of his absolute bewilderment concerning the alleged plot, no fewer than twenty three intelligence experts told Capitol Hill Blue that President Bush was "cheapening and politicizing their work" by creating a "fantasy world" of discredited terror alerts and using them for political points scoring."

The entire case was a lie based on an already discredited informer paid by federal agents. There are other similar cases that I will not go into for sake of preventing repetition. The point has been made

There has been a consistent effort by the mainstream media of negative "conditioning" of the American people towards the peaceful religion of Islam. The lack of real and credible information portrayed about Muslims in the media is appaling. It seems that everything coming out of our televisions, radios, and newspapers seems to confirm the "prevailing knowledge" that Muslims are a danger to Western values and even to civilization itself. These false premises about Muslims are used by our government to legitimize American Military presence in numerous Muslim nations abroad and to legitimize domestic security agendas (like the NSA suveillance act and the Patriot Act).

The religion of Islam makes it forbidden to kill anyone unless it is under strict conditions of self-defense. In the Quran, there is a reference about the murder of a human being which says that if one human being is killed, it is as if the entire humanity was killed (because the death of that person will prevent all his progeny from being born). Besides, what would have happened to humanity if Adam was killed or murdered before having children?? Also, during times of war, a nation must exhaust ALL its options for peace and it is a sin to go to war knowing that options for peace are left on the table. Furthermore, once all options for peace are exhausted even then it is not enough to decaare war on a nation! The only way to rightfully attack someone else is if that person or nation attacked you first. The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) did everything he could to make peace between his city (Medina at the time) and Mecca (controlled by Pagan tribes at the time who despised the Prophet and his message). Even though Mecca did not want peace, Prophet Mohammad did not attack it until Mecca attacked Medina not once, but numerous times. After it was clear that Mecca would stop at nothing to destroy the people of Medina and attacked Medina numerous times did the Prophet mobilize his forces to regain control of Mecca.

It is a lie to say that Islam is an evil religion. Even though our media and high-profile officials do not say this outright, it is definitely implied. For anyone that doubts anything of what I had to say then do me one thing please! Instead of having a television show or a movie tell you about Muslims and the religion of Islam, please do the research yourself. Go to the SOURCE of the religion of Islam. Go read the Quran. Make your own judgement. Don't listen to the same people that lied to you about WMD's in Iraq, or lied to you about the invasion of Nicaragua, or misled you about the Vietnam debacle. Please do not be fooled by the propogandistic media. In the upcoming days, I will definitely talk about various propogandistic methods used by our government to control the media. The viel of secrecy and illusion involving foreign and domestic policy must be removed in order for Democracy to be effective. How can an uninformed and ignorant people who do not see reality for what it is vote intelligently? Remember, it is a necessary condition that the electorate be intelligently informed about things in order for Democracy to effectively function. This is a huge reason for the first Amendment in our constitution. Anyways , please feel free to make any comments and to relay your point of view. Until tomorrow everyone!
